Scholarships Support Temp (Part-time)

The Position

The contractor in this position will provide support to the DoSomething marketing team as well as the DoSomething Strategic team. Your job will be to support the execution of our 3 scholarship programs: Campaign scholarships, H&R Block scholarships, and Foot Locker scholarships.

You’ll work closely with multiple teams to ensure the scholarship process runs smoothly by acting as the scholarship liaison between Campaigns, Marketing, DoSomething Strategic, Finance, and ​Membership ​Support teams.

What you’ll do:

Support Campaigns:

  • Work with our campaigns team to assess each month’s scholarship needs.
  • Accurately update internal docs with this knowledge accordingly.

Marketing:

  • Create scholarship blurbs/rules for scholarship partners.
  • Manage relationship with scholarship partners to ensure scholarships are uploaded to databases in timely fashion without error.
  • ​Forge relationships with new scholarship partners to reach more young people. ​
  • Oversee updates to the DoSomething.org scholarship page at the end of every month.​

Project/Program Management:

  • Create and edit website content for multiple scholarship websites.
  • ​Manage inboxes to communicate with scholarship winners, parents and their universities.
  • Scholarship winner application vetting, and winner reveal support.

Member Engagement:

  • Select scholarship winner at the close of each campaign.
  • Send and receive contracts and personal identification information from winners and upload into Salesforce and the scholarship Trello board.  
  • Lead communication with past scholarship winners.

Finance:

  • Once the scholarship winner is ready to receive their scholarship, you will be responsible for ​financial internal/external paperwork and updating​ Salesforce

The Requirements

  • Start Date: Flexible, January 2019
  • End Date: Flexible, June 2019
  • Able to work in-office 20 hours per week for the duration above 
  • Contractor should be:
    • A people person! You’ll be on the front lines with our members and we want somebody who embodies the DoSomething spirit.
    • Strong communication skills, including great telephone skills. You’ll have to relay important and time-sensitive information between multiple teams via email, Slack, Trello and phone calls.
    • Impeccable organizational, time planning skills, and attention to detail.
    • Self-sufficient - you should be the type of person who will search high and low to find an answer yourself before asking someone else.
  • The contractor should be proficient with:
    • email etiquette + general customer service
    • database management
    • G-Suite
  • This role is compensated at the rate of $15/hour
