Video/Photo Intern - Fall 2018

Fall 2018 Photo + Video Internship


Reports to: Photo/Video Production Associate

Overview: The Photo/Video Intern will have the best internship currently available at DoSomething (and quite possibly, in the whole world). But seriously, we are looking for someone not only to help us create amazing video content, but to also help reflect our brand, campaigns, and culture via video. Most importantly, assist in telling the amazing stories of members and the impact they are making on the world.

This intern will be required to work 12 hours per week from September 10-December 14. This position is paid $13/hour.

 What you'll do:

  •  Develop content alongside our in-house marketing and creative team.
  •  Plan and run in-house photo and video productions.
  •  Edit photo and video content for our omni-platform brand.
  • Keep track of analytics for video performance on social channels
  • Attend brainstorm meetings for both sponsored and unsponsored campaigns


What you'll learn:

  • Developing creative process and storytelling workflows
  • Casting talent for photo and video
  • Working in an office environment with multiple people and teams
  • Distributing video to marketing partners
  • Telling better stories through video
  • Video editing workflows for programmatic content.
  • Working with brands like ESPN, Johnson & Johnson, truth, 3M, Takis, Garnier and more!
  • Having your work featured by our partners like Teen Vogue, iHeartMedia, Tumblr, Channel One News, etc


What we're looking for:

  • DSLR or other camera experience
  • Post Production (Adobe Premiere Pro) experience
  • Audio editing (Adobe Audition) experience
  • An understanding of social media platforms
  • People skills (the ability to interview someone) and a sense of humor.
  • Flexibility and the ability to pivot quickly
  • Good understanding of narrative pacing, transitions and other basic video editing skills
  • An understanding of 3-point lighting
  • Graphic animation (Adobe After effects) experience a plus
