Reports to: Head of Campaigns is a movement to create the most socially active generation in history.

This is your opportunity to create, execute, and evaluate campaigns that will get’s 5.5 million global members, ages 13 - 25, to take action on causes ranging from poverty and homelessness, to education and mental health, to literally any cause that affects our members and their communities. You will create major cause campaigns to get young people to make a tangible difference against inequality and injustice at scale. You will run at least one Staff Pick campaign within your first six months that will receive full organizational support.


You are:

  • passionate about social change and believe in the power of collective action.
  • experienced in communicating with young people.
  • aware of the power of a conversation centered around a hashtag, but you see the crucial need for true social action to go beyond awareness.
  • excited for the responsibility to craft campaigns that provide young people with the knowledge, tools, resources, and experiences that allow them to become the most effective agent of change they can be -- today, and throughout their lives.



  • Project Management. This will be your number one responsibility. You will be creating timelines, answering emails from members, managing the timely deliverables of campaign materials, connecting with sponsors and strategic partners, and much more.
  • Sponsored Campaign Management. You will be the main point of contact for corporate sponsors on Staff Pick Campaigns. You’ll maintain these relationships and ensure that goals on all sides are met.
  • Creativity. You will come up with unique, exciting campaign ideas that will galvanize tens of thousands of young people to create change in their own communities. You understand how to craft a communications strategy that is optimized to succeed across various digital channels and mediums.
  • Research. You understand how to conduct actionable research around social issues. This means identifying a specific problem, and the corresponding research-backed solution that we’ll then activate our members around at scale.
  • Networking. You will create and maintain relationships with the most amazing organizations working with young people to ensure every campaign we create has fully vetted, up to date sign-off from experts in the field.
  • Cause Champion. You can talk to everyone -- both familiar and unfamiliar with the cause, both internal and external to DS -- and get them to understand the importance of taking action either through relaying firsthand experience, secondhand stories, macro-level research, or some combination thereof, in an effective and empathetic manner.


What we're looking for:

  • You’d rather get sh*t done than complain; you understand the importance of proposing solutions for any obstacle in your way.
  • You have experience getting young people motivated around social issues.
  • You have strong project management skills that allows you to juggle multiple to-dos at once. You should have previous experience that shows your ability to do so. Attention to detail is critical.
  • You have a deep passion for social change, and a belief in the power of young people to change the world. You believe in working everyday to help shape the next generation of do-ers, leaders and changemakers.
  • You know whom to talk to. If you want to get external opinions on a campaign idea, you know exactly who we should call in the not-for-profit or advocacy space to get a good point of view.
  • You are psyched to work with corporate partners on campaign and utilize their enormous might and resources for good.
  • Advocacy, local policy, and youth experience a plus.
